What more can be gained from this course?
By the time dogs and their humans have finished the first 2 levels of adult training with us, there is a clear bond and enthusiasm for a challenge. Many people have made friends within the class by this stage and want to come back together to share this next level of learning with their dogs.
Consistent feedback from this course is that it is the most enjoyable and entertaining of all the courses!
VIP Status
Once your dog has completed Level 3 training with us he/she will become a Barkers in Balance VIP. This privilege brings with it a personalised VIP card and your dog’s entitlement to attend any courses already completed for half price. That way, coming back for a refresher is just that bit more enticing. It also gives us a chance to thank you for your loyalty.
Who?
This class is designed for dogs who have completed the first two courses for older dogs, at any of our venues: Bobs Farm, Anna Bay, Shoal Bay, Fern Bay, New Lambton, Lambton, Kurri Kurri, East Maitland or Teralba. The class is limited to 8 dogs to allow for appropriate input and feedback to all participants.
What?
During this 6-week course dogs and their humans will work on extension skills, building on what they have learnt in the previous two levels of adolescent training. These extension skills include:
- Heeling exercises with dogs off lead moving in and around the group, with the challenge of a variety of distractions.
- A combination of Sit Stays, Down Stays and Stand Stays with challenging distractions.
- More advanced recalls involving moving past other dogs off lead.
- Long distance commands used in novelty events.
- Practising and sharing a collection of tricks.
- Novelty games run in teams and individually. These games require integration of many skills learnt previously but in new, more challenging settings.
