Our Holistic Approach to Training
- Diet: is the dog eating a nutritious diet that is satisfying them, promoting a calm demeanour?
- Home Routine: is the dog feeling safe and secure knowing the rules and boundaries?
- Past History: have there been past events causing phobias or anxieties?
- Physical or Mental Inhibitors: do we need to collaborate with a specialist vet to perhaps seek other interventions?
Once we have investigated what could be significant contributing factors to the core issues for the dog, we have a far greater chance to clear blocked pathways, making the learning far easier for the dog and the human.
Our approach is far more than Sit, Come and Stay! Here is one of the stories from our lovely pups who have experienced that approach!
MY NAME IS BELLA the Cattle Dog. Since my first lesson I’ve learnt to lie down on cue, settle down when I’m expected to and my human has made my daily activities varied but consistent and predictable. My second lesson involved strategies to discourage me from jumping up on people along with strategies to help me feel safe when I meet other dogs on the lead. We’re working towards being able to go for a walk outside our property with me knowing what to do when I see other dogs on the lead out there
